DHOKRA CRAFT

Dhokra metal casting has been used in India for over 4,000 years and is still used. One of the earliest known lost wax artifacts is the dancing girl of Mohenjo-daro.. This craft practiced by tribal of Bastar region of India and is known throughout the world for their unique forms. The tribal communities of Bastar have been protecting this rare art from generation to generation.

WROUGHT IRON

Lohshilp or wrought iron craft is one of the most unique and the oldest craft form in Bastar region. It has an aesthetic appeal in spite of its simplistic form. The art originated from the iron smith community that used to make farming and hunting implements for tribes.

The series of prototypes were created using polyfoam
focusing on its Upholstery property.
Blocks of foam have been tied and twirled with strings to
create different seating forms.
